What First Drew you to Photography?
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been very nostalgic. Even as a little girl, I can remember begging my mom to dig our old family albums out of the attic and swelling with excitement as we would flip through what felt like endless pages of photographs.
Having and protecting memories in the form of pictures is something I hold close to my heart. I cherish witnessing interactions, both casual and affectionate, in real time as well. Looking back now, it’s obvious to me why my high school hobby blossomed into so much more than just a creative outlet.
What is your favorite thing about being a wedding photographer?
Oh my goodness, how in the world can I only choose one? I’m going to break the rules here and give you two. One, I love to serve! And no, I’m not just saying that 😉 Serving brings me immense joy and I’m so grateful that I get to incorporate and exercise that gift into what I do! And two, I think of photography as a time capsule, and I love that I get to be the capturer of those precious and priceless moments. I am passionate about taking photos that couples will look back on and feel the authentic emotions they felt in that moment.
Please list your credentials and experience.
I began second shooting weddings in high school. In the summer of 2013, I had the opportunity to do a photography internship where I learned many of the ins and outs of running a successful photography business! A few months later I launched my own business, minored in photography in college, and have immensely enjoyed shooting weddings ever since!
What is your spirit animal & why?
I would have to say my dog Maebel is my spirit animal. Not just because I love her to the moon and back, but also because we actually have a number of things in common. We both tend to be in tune with others emotions, we thrive equally in friendships as well as alone time, and we both share an intense love for sleep.
What else would you want to say about yourself to anyone looking for a photographer through the Remnant Collective?
My goal is to make you feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible on your wedding day. I make sure to focus on both the big picture and the little details throughout each event. I am equally confident in my ability to lead and direct when needed, as well as know when to step back to capture the unfiltered interactions of guests and the uniqueness of your relationship.
